September 26: Celebrate Spirit Day!

We've got spirit, yes we do! We've got spirit, how 'bout YOU! Spirit and some snazzy t-shirts.

Don't be caught without an Emory shirt on Spirit Day, September 26. Be sure and take a picture of yourself, too. You just might be famous!

Show your Emory colors for a day. Enjoy the benefits for a lifetime. Saturday, September 26, marks the inaugural celebration of Spirit Day, when the entire Emory community—from the thousands on campus celebrating Emory Homecoming Weekend to alumni coast to coast and around the world—dress in their blue-and-gold best to show off their school.

Spirit Day was created to bring together the far-flung Emory community in a fun, new way. Adding the celebration to the Emory Homecoming Weekend schedule made perfect sense. That way, Emory alumni could catch the Homecoming spirit wherever they are--either on campus or 2,000 miles away from it. As a bonus, provided everyone dresses Emory-appropriately (as they most surely will do), alumni may run into fellow graduates they didn't even know.

All Spirit Day participants are invited to post their "spirited" photos to the Emory Spirit group on E-Connection or the Emory Alumni Association’s (EAA) fan page on Facebook. Select photos and stories will be featured in upcoming Emory publications in print and online.

If you are on campus for Homecoming activities and for some reason caught without an Emory shirt, the EAA will be giving away free Emory shirts (while supplies last) at the Homecoming information table at the DUC from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on September 26, and during the Homecoming Parade, which begins at 2:00 p.m.—Eric Rangus
