This year’s Emory Homecoming Weekend was the largest ever, with more than 4,000 guests visiting Atlanta and Oxford, September 26–28, and EmoryWire has the pictures to prove it. Lots and lots of pictures.
On the Atlanta campus, 10 undergraduate classes got together for reunions, but that was only a small part of the activities. The festivities actually began on Thursday, September 25, with the dedication of the new building for the Candler School of Theology and the Campaign Emory gala, which ushered in the public phase of the largest fund-raising campaign in Emory’s and the state of Georgia’s history.
Many of the weekend’s attendees came to campus for their class reunions, and the diversity of schools and ages energized the community. More than 200 guests attended Goizueta Business School’s MBA Class of 2003 five-year reunion. The Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing’s 60-year reunion of the Class of 1948 was one its most successful ever. The Rollins School of Public Health and School of Law also had successful reunions; the law reunions were distinctive because they were held in private homes—and Dean David Partlett made sure to visit them all.
School of Medicine reunions were successful on a couple levels. Not only were individual classes able to get together, but many medical school alumni know each other across the years because they often work together at various hospitals and other health care facilities. Because of their worklives, 20-year graduate often has a lot in common with a 40-year graduate.
Oxford College got to show off East Village, its new residence hall, as well as its newly bricked Quadrangle.

Finally, each of the EAA’s undergraduate reunions are included—if you were there, we should have proof of it.—Eric Rangus
