Emory junior gets first LGBT leadership scholarship

Emory Gay and Lesbian Alumni (GALA), an interest group of the Emory Alumni Association (EAA), and the Office of LGBT Life have presented the first GALA Leadership Award to Olivia Wise 10C, a junior from Lawrenceville, Ga., double-majoring in women’s studies and English.

Alumni volunteers make interviewing program worthwhile

When Kumasi Adoma 01C of Houston sat down with the first of three Emory applicants she was scheduled to interview on Saturday, February 28, she warmly greeted the slightly nervous high school senior with a big smile. By the time their 20-minute conversation was over, Adoma’s smile was beaming just as brightly as it had when she started. In return she received a smile that was just as wide. Swim teams finish second in nation

Paced by sophomore Liz Horvat’s 11C four national-championship performance, Emory’s women’s and men’s swimming teams both finished second in the nation at the NCAA Division III National Championship meet, March 18–21. Horvat was named the Division III Women's Swimmer of the Year and Emory’s Jon Howell was named the Division III Women's Swimming Coach of the Year.
