Reflection means different things to different people. To some, the task serves up an opportunity to evaluate life’s choices, good and bad. To others, the process calls to mind a rolling tide of moments. To still others, reflection is an enduring pastime that strengthens memories. When asked to reflect upon their time at Emory University for the special 175th Anniversary issue of Emory Magazine, alumni drew into focus topics as diverse as multi-racial friendships, Northern infiltration of a Southern campus, earned trust, defining personal moments, and Nobel motorcades.
