Dinner with Twelve Strangers

Dinner with 12 Strangers

Through Dinner with 12 Strangers (D12), Emory alumni, faculty, and staff in the Atlanta area open their homes to students for small dinner parties or host the students at local restaurants. "Strangers" come together in a warm, friendly environment for good food, conversation, and camaraderie. D12 is so much more than just a meal.

New Friends, New Emory Memories

At every D12 event, students and hosts may begin an evening as strangers and leave as friends. Each event offers students the opportunity to network with Emory alumni, ask questions about life after college, and interact with alumni, professors, and staff beyond the classroom.

Want to attend a D12 event?

Student registration will open during the 2019 fall semester.

Want to host a D12 event?

Let us know you'd like to host, and plan the dinner itself. Love a casual backyard barbecue? Great! Prefer a candlelight formal meal in the dining room? That's great too! The type of D12 experience you create is entirely up to you.

The Emory Alumni Association handles all logistics including marketing to students, arranging carpools from campus, and facilitating communication between students and hosts.

As the host, you'll decide the details, including your preferred group size, school audience preference, cohosts, faculty guests, and of course, the menu. Hosts cover the dinner expenses; however hosts may receive in-kind donation credit to an Emory designation of their choice (receipts required) for the cost of providing the meal.

We'd love to have you join us as a dinner host!
