When is the last time you regularly read a magazine or news source written in one voice? We're guessing you don't (and if you do, we'll bet it's called a blog). So, we’re switching it up.

Of course, we will continue to cover the relevant stories and interesting people in-house as well, but we can’t be everywhere and we want more.

That’s where you come in…

We’re looking for contributors to EmoryWire.

We hope you will share your good stories.

But, what makes a story good? Start by asking yourself these questions:

  • Is the story interesting or important?
Good stories are one or the other. Great stories are both.

  • Does the story have a newspeg?
Is there something timely going on? Did your book hit the NYT Bestsellers List? Did your business make record profits? Are you leading a movement or discovering a new fossil?

  • If you are not an alumnus yourself, are Emory alumni involved?

Yes? Then we are halfway there. There are a few things you should know:

  • Not everything will run, but everything will be considered. We’ll get back to you and let you know when we’re using it or why it’s not quite right for us.

  • We reserve the right to edit for space, grammar, or clarity, but we will not change the content.

For further assistance, read our recommended best practices.

What's a good idea, you ask?

Here are some examples of what we've run:

Photo Essays

Book Excerpts

Event Recaps

Not seeing what works for your idea?

Pitch one to us.

We're up for it and would love to hear from you.
