EAA Strategic Plan: 2010-2013
The goal of the Emory Alumni Association's (EAA) strategic plan for 2010–2013 is to increase the level of alumni and student engagement and foster a greater investment in Emory.
In collaboration with the Emory Alumni Board (EAB), alumni volunteers, campus partners, and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR), the EAA is committed to ensuring its place among the nation's model alumni associations. The EAA is confident that this strategic plan will not only strengthen the ties between Emory's 118,000 alumni, students, and their alma mater, but also engage them in creative and innovative ways that more meaningfully bond them to each other.
Survey Background
In January 2010, 10 years after drafting the most recent strategic plan and at the end of the 3-year organizational review completed in 2007, the EAA began a comprehensive strategic planning process to help determine its strategic direction for the next 3-5 years.
With 2 years left in Campaign Emory, significant advances in technology, and the implementation of the Emory Alumni Board of the Future plan, the timing was appropriate for subsequent review. To facilitate this process, the EAA enlisted the assistance of professional consultant Patty Kubus, of Leadership Potential International Inc. Dr. Kubus began the process by conducting a series of Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat (SWOT) analyses and discussions with Emory staff, stakeholder groups and individuals. Following these, the EAA conducted surveys of alumni and students on benefits, offerings, and communications. The findings of this data and highlights of our strategies and tactics are provided for your review. We are excited to work together to achieve our mission and goals.
The first significant outcome of these discussions was a revision to the EAA mission, vision, and values statements as shown below.
