The Emory Medal is the highest University award given to alumni. It honors distinguished service to Emory or the EAA, service to the community, and/or outstanding professional achievement.
The J. Pollard Turman Alumni Service Award recognizes distinguished Emory alumni who have demonstrated exceptional volunteer leadership in alumni-related activities.
An Unsung Heroine is a woman who has demonstrated extraordinary dedication to issues that affect women at Emory or in the larger community, but whose efforts have not received publicity or formal recognition.
The Jake’s Golden Heart Award was established in May of 2010 in honor of its namesake and first recipient. This award, given by the EAA, recognizes Emory alumni who have demonstrated the values represented tirelessly by Dr. Judson “Jake” Ward 33C 36G.
Candler School of Theology annually recognizes alumni whose service to God, the church, the community, and Candler has been made with distinction.
The Distinguished Alumni Award for Emory University’s College of Arts and Sciences is awarded each year during Homecoming Weekend to two undergraduate alumni. The Young Alumni Award is also given at this time.
Emory University School of Law honors five alumni each year for distinguished work in public service and volunteer efforts on the law school’s behalf. The Emory Law Distinguished Alumni Award was established in 1985. The award recognizes outstanding alumni who have achieved distinction in legal practice, teaching, research or public administration, and who have demonstrated distinguished service to Emory Law, the Emory Law Alumni Association or Emory University. Other awards include the Alumni Service Award, Eleonore Raoul Greene Trailblazer Award, and Young Alumni Award.
Each year the Medical Alumni Association recognizes outstanding alumni for their contributions to Emory, the School of Medicine, and the greater community.
The Emory Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1989 by the EAA and the Department of Athletics and Recreation. The Hall of Fame is designed to honor those individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Emory athletics and have helped bring excellence and distinction to the University and its athletic program. Each year, the Nurses' Alumni Association of the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing honors alumni and friends who are committed to the key values of the nursing school: scholarship, leadership, and social responsibility. These awards include the Distinguished Nursing Achievement Alumni Award, the Award of Honor, the Excellence in Nursing Award, the Recent Graduate Award and the Honorary Alumni Award. The awards are presented during Homecoming weekend.
The Oxford College Alumni Association awards four awards annually: The Outstanding Teaching Award, the Outstanding Staff Award, Honorary Alumnus/a Award and the Judge William L. Norton Outstanding Alumnus/a Award. The Oxford College Board of Counselors also awards the R. Carl Chandler Award for a lifetime of leadership through service to Oxford College.
Each year the Rollins School of Public Health presents two awards: the Distinguished Achievement Award, which is awarded to an alumnus/a who has made an outstanding contribution in the field of public health, and the Matthew Lee Girvin Award, which recognizes the work of a recent graduate.
The Sheth Distinguished International Alumni Award, established in 2002 by the generous gift of Madhu and Jagdish Sheth, Charles H. Kellstadt professor of marketing, seeks to recognize Emory University's international alumni who have distinguished themselves in service to universities, governments, private sector firms, and/or nongovernmental organizations.
